This is the first time since the 1860 election that such a thing is possible. The same type of rift that existed within the Whig party and caused it to lose to the Republicans is finally present in the Democrats. With Obama stealing the election from Hillary, there is plenty of anger and resentment within the Dems - enough so that the screeching moonbats and tinfoil-hat-wearing majority of that party may well split off and determine that the election is rigged should their Messiah lose. If Obama loses, the far left of that party will become completely unhinged, and split off from the Democratic party, becoming a more pure, psychotic, socialist/communist entity.
This, of course, will benefit the country because we'll now have three parties. One will be the far left Socialist/Communist party made up of the moonbat brigades that left the ranks of the Democratic party - they'll insist on ideological purity, and kick out all the moderates. We'll have a Libertarian party - people who vote Democrat because they do not like the idea of morality being legislated, but, at the same time, wish for some fiscal conservatism and government accountability. We'll have the Republican party, which will still be filled with the Religious Right, and who, ostensibly stand for fiscal conservatisim.
The practical upshot of this is that everyone like me who votes Republican because they're the party of smaller government will start to vote more Libertarian because of the massive influx of centrist Democrats from the fallout from this election. (Since we'll actually start to see there being a chance of winning, it makes more sense.) The breakdown, then, would be more along the lines (pulling numbers out of the air)
20% Democrat (socialist/communist/big government statists)
20% Republican (Theocrat/isolationist/big brother government statists)
60% Libertarian (Small government/private ownership/low taxes/patriotic individualists.)
Sure, in some parts of the bible belt, we'd get the occasional Republican in there, to try and make everything that transpires between two consenting adults illegal. And from some parts of the porn belt, we'd get some liberal wiener Democrat in who would try to increase the size and scope of government, to make sure we're dependent from cradle to grave. But the vast majority of America would flock to a center party who values freedom, individualism, and the right of self-determination. The party of low taxes, small government, non-interference - this party would become dominant. As it repealed laws and taxes, and shrank the government, people would begin to see how much better life is while not under the oppressive yoke of the state machine. People would grow less dependent on government.
Eventually, we might even get back to seeing the Constitution again.
The problem, however, is that, for this to happen, Obama has to lose. If he wins, the divisions in the Democratic party will heal, and we'll be stuck with the same two parties for at least another ten elections. Like the groundhog seeing its shadow, a Democratic victory this year will cause the forces of freedom to scurry back into our holes, hoping that the revolution comes before they take away all of our guns. It'll be forty more years of winter.
